It seems quite normal, you buy a laptop in the (web)shop, pre-installed with Windows by default. Without knowing it, the cost of the Microsoft Windows license is included in the price of the laptop. If you think about this, it's actually really weird. There are countless operating systems on the market. Think of Linux Ubuntu, Mint, Debian, or an operating system (OS) like Zorin OS that is similar to Windows. All these operating systems are free and free to use.
Actually, it’s crazy that when you want to buy a laptop, as a consumer you only have two choices, Windows or Mac OS x. A laptop without an operating system is not one of the possibilities.
